Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY was the perfect setting for Amber and Cody’s wedding ceremony and reception. I think you’ll see from the photos that they were surrounded by the people who love them, and it was truly a day of celebration. Their reception was an absolute blast, and I’m sure they danced long into the night after I left. Here’s a glimpse into their wedding day.
Richmond, KY Engagement Session: James and Kristen
We’re calling this an engagement session, but really it’s more like a re-engagement session….is that a thing? It is now.
Kristen and James had a very small ceremony the first time they got married, but they recently decided that they wanted to celebrate their marriage with their family and friends with a bigger ceremony this June. When James told me that he proposed to Kristen with a scavenger hunt that ended at the batting cages at Lake Reba with him wearing a pickle suit, I was instantly hooked. A. Pickle. Suit. Come on you guys; you know that’s a big DILL! I asked them if we could recreate the proposal, and they were happy to oblige me. Seriously, I could not have been more excited about the pickle suit, and it did not disappoint. You couldn’t ask for a more fun and sweet couple to work with, and I can’t wait to capture their Richmond, KY wedding in June.
I pick(l)ed some of my favorite images from James and Kristen’s engagement session to share with you. Enjoy!
Lexington, KY Engagement Session: Austin and Geneva
Our first attempt at engagement photos with Austin and Geneva at Keeneland in Lexington, KY ended almost as quickly as it began. It wasn’t supposed to rain, but rain it did. We did manage to get in a few photos before it started to pour, but we got back together a couple weeks later and shot around downtown Lexington to finish up their session. Luckily this time we had a gorgeous spring day to finish up Austin and Geneva’s engagement photos. Here are a few of my favorites.
Mulhauser Barn in West Chester, OH Wedding: Matthew and Michelle
This is actually a little bit of an older wedding (2015), but it’s still a favorite. Between the sweet couple, the amazing venue, and the completely gorgeous day, how could it not be?? And apparently I either managed to delete it somehow (blogging/websites are not my thing, guys!) or I never blogged it to begin with (again, blogging is not my thing–I would much rather be behind my camera than on a computer any day).
West Chester is around Cincinnati, OH, so it was a bit of a drive for me, but Matthew and Michelle’s outdoor wedding was totally worth it. And I honestly would gladly make the drive to shoot at the Mulhauser Barn again…so pretty!! Anyway, enough of my ramblings…here’s a small glimpse into Michelle and Matthew’s wedding day.
Winchester, KY Couples Mini Session: Hannah and Kian
For the first time in what felt like forever, the sun actually decided to shine on the day that we shot Hannah and Kian’s couple’s mini session in Winchester, Kentucky. Despite it looking warm,it was actually incredibly cold. Hannah and Kian were super sweet and did a great job hiding that they were freezing during their session…especially Hannah, who was a trooper in that dress. Here are a few of my favorite photographs from their session.
Keeneland Engagement Session: Charlie and Sarah
Let’s start with this…I am really terrible about updating my website…like REALLY terrible. It just takes so much time. If you want to see my latest work, you should definitely be following me on Facebook or Instagram.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about Charlie and Sarah’s Lexington, KY engagement session at Keeneland. It was really important to them to incorporate their faith into the session, and I think we nailed that. I love that they also wanted to incorporate quilts from their grandmothers. Speaking of things I love, I love Charlie’s huge smile when he looks at Sarah. They are such a sweet couple, and it has been so fun to get to know them. Here are some favorites from their session.
Red River Gorge Wedding Photography: Brett and Megan
I loved Brett and Megan’s colorful outdoor wedding at the Cliffview Resort in Campton, Kentucky. Megan’s wedding dress really popped against the red cabin where she got ready, and her green shoes are among some of my favorites ever. It was a day full of happiness and lots of sweet moments, including a first look with Megan’s dad that might have left me a bit misty-eyed. The last few photos at the end are from Chimney Rock in the Red River Gorge, one of Brett and Megan’s favorite trails. There are so many more photos that I could include, but here are some of my favorites:
